Obituary for Russell Anthony "Rusty" Hancock

Centerville, GA- Russell “Rusty” Hancock, 56, passed away after an extended illness. A graveside service celebrating his life will be held on Thursday, May 25, 2017 at 11:00am in Oaklawn Cemetery, Fort Valley. The family will receive friends on Wednesday, May 24, 2017 from 6:00 – 8:00 pm at Burpee-Scott Memorial Chapel & Crematory. The family accepts flowers but suggest any donations be given to the American Lung Association.
Rusty was born in Albany, GA on July 8, 1960 to the late Maxwell and Lou Ellen Watson Hancock. He worked for many years as a plumber with West Plumbing in Warner Robins until his health began to fail. Rusty loved the outdoors, hunting and fishing, but his greatest joy besides his family was making people laugh. He will truly be missed by all who knew and loved him. In addition to his parents, Rusty was preceded in death by two brothers: Robert “Robbie” and Randy Hancock.
Left to cherish his memory are his wife: Kim Horton Hancock, Centerville; daughter: Christal Hancock, Pensacola, FL; son: Robert “Dylan” Hancock, Warner Robins; 2 granddaughters: Mallory Hancock and Halee Parrish; 1 great-grandchild: Elaina; brother: Richard Hancock, Fort Valley; several nieces and nephews.
