Warner Robins, GA – Sidney Lamar Ethridge, 82, went to be with the Lord on Thursday, July 30, 2020 at his residence. Funeral services will be held on Saturday, August 1, 2020 at 2:00 pm at Burpee-Scott Memorial Chapel & Crematory with interment immediately following at Magnolia Park Cemetery. The visitation for family and friends will be held one hour prior to the services. Reverend Matt Walls will be officiating. The family has requested, in honor of Sidney, everyone please dress casually.
Sidney was born in Thomaston, GA on July 6, 1938 to the late Emory and Julia (Ruffin) Ethridge. Sidney worked for the City of Warner Robins as a supervisor in the heavy equipment vehicle maintenance department until his retirement. He was an active member of Southside Baptist Church Kathleen. Sidney enjoyed tinkering with electronics and being outdoors, but his greatest joy was his children, especially his grandchildren. In addition to his parents, Sidney was preceded in death by his twin sister, Sylvia Ethridge Watson.
Left to cherish his memory is his beloved wife, Carolyn (Brown) Ethridge of Warner Robins; children: Shannon Ethridge of Cumming and Stephanie George of Warner Robins; 6 grandchildren: Faith, Jessica, Tyler, Kaitlyn, Bo and Caleb; 4 great-grandchildren: Maycie, Phenix, Skylar and Lexie; brother: Earl Ethridge of Griffin; sister: Jan Prince of Warner Robins.
