Obituary for Stuart Wheeler Fairchild

Perry, GA – Stuart Wheeler Fairchild, 79, went home to be with the Lord on Saturday, August 20, 2022, and is now at peace. Services celebrating his life will be held on Saturday, August 27, 2022, at Hope Church with interment immediately following at Magnolia Park Cemetery. Pastor Jeff Poole will be officiating the services.
Stuart was born on May 3, 1943, in Ellisville, MS to the late William Edward Fairchild and Lula Adeline (Williams) Fairchild. He was the owner and operator of Fairchild Heating and Air from 1970 until he retired in 2010. He was a hard worker all his life which began when he was in the 6th grade working as a pin setter at a local bowling alley. Stuart was not afraid to tackle any project. He was a skilled craftsman, working specifically with sheet metal. He enjoyed collecting arrowheads, going to estate/yard sales, and working in his rose garden, or potting plants. He even had his mother’s Christmas and Easter Cactuses still thriving to the day. Stuart had a rose garden that was planted specifically for his late wife, Margaret. He also enjoyed collecting coins and had amassed quite the collection. Stuart loved the Lord and worshipping Him at Hope Church, where he was a charter member. In addition to his parents, Stuart was preceded in death by his beloved wife, Margaret Ann (Langston) Fairchild; son: Robert Edward Lee; siblings: William Earl Fairchild, Orville Fairchild, Harriett Bush, Ruby Nell Lewis, and Robert Fairchild.
Left to cherish his memory are his children: Anita York of Bonaire, GA, Jimmy Fairchild (Rhonda) of Marshallville, GA, Stanley Fairchild (Michelle) of Prattville, AL, and Cynthia Clower (Hal) of Kathleen, GA; Nine Grandchildren; Eight Great-Grandchildren.
