Byron, Georgia – Theresa Bailey Peele went to be with her Lord and Savior Jesus Christ in Heaven on February 15, 2022, at the age of 73 after a courageous eight-and-a-half-year battle with ALS (Lou-Gehrig) disease. Theresa was born on December 16, 1948, in Walterboro, SC and went to R.B. Stall High School. Theresa was the proud daughter of the late Frampton Carl Bailey and Dorothy McAlhaney Barnett. She was preceded in death by her brothers Joseph A. Bailey, David A. Bailey, and sisters Flotilla Walters and Shyrel Willett. Theresa is survived by her beloved husband Steven B. Peele of 20 years of marriage. Her oldest brother Carl Bailey and his wife Doris of New Bern, NC and her sister Carolyn Devaney and her husband Ray of Walterboro, SC and her brother-in-law Stuart Willett of Spring, TX.
Theresa did an amazing job of raising her three children, Janet Gerlach of Birdboro, PA, Terri Lynn Cash of Rocky Mount, NC and John Cash of Valparaiso, FL. She is also a proud Nana of thirteen grandkids and six great-grandkids.
Theresa retired from working at Walmart for 16 years mainly as a pharmacy technician and she volunteered to assist patients at the Navicent Hospital of Peach County.
Theresa loved to go on summer vacations with just her sisters. She loved to go to the beach, go on cruises and she loved to dance. Theresa loved to play RummiKub, Phase 10 and various other games with her family and friends. She also loved to sit on her back patio and watch the hummingbirds fly from one feeder to another and to some of her beautiful flowers.
Theresa was a caring and compassionate person whose unselfish love and spirit will always be forever in our hearts.
