Obituary for Tom Watson Padgett

Perry, GA – Tom Watson Padgett, 86, went home to be with the Lord on Saturday, April 17, 2021 at his residence. Services celebrating his life will be held on Friday, April 30, 2021 at 11:00 am at Byron United Methodist Church with Reverend Tom Carruth officiating. Tom will be laid to rest at Florida National Cemetery in Bushnell, FL.
Tom was born on October 13, 1934 in Dundee, FL to the late Lottie Padgett. He faithfully and honorably served his country in the United States Navy. Tom retired from Anchor Glass, where he was a machine repairman. He grew up on a dairy farm in Florida where he learned the value of hard work.Tom worked at GoFish in Perry where he enjoyed teaching children how to fish. He was a Scottish Rite, mason, and a member of the Winnebago club in which he traveled all 50 states. Tom was a faithful and devoted member of Byron United Methodist Church.
Left to cherish his memory is his beloved wife, Veronica (Stead) Padgett; brothers and sisters-in-laws: Robert and Shirley Griffin and Ricki Stead; niece: Kelly Stead; nephews: David Stead, Jason Griffin (Denise), Jeff Griffin (Stacy), and Gary Griffin (Leanne); cousin: Marlene Gilbert.
