FORT WORTH - Venice Lambert, 94, went to be with the Lord on Wednesday, September 19, 2018 while visiting her son in Georgia.
Service: 1:30 p.m. Thursday, September 27, 2018 at Greenwood Chapel. Interment: Greenwood Memorial Park. Visitation: 6 to 8 p.m. Wednesday, September 26, 2018 at Greenwood. A local memorial service will be announced in the near future.
Venice was born on April 10, 1924 to J. H. and Manie Pope in Weatherford, Tx. After the death of her parents, she was adopted by Uncle Homer and Josie Pope. She graduated from Abilene High School, moved to Fort Worth and met her future husband while working for the telephone company. She married David B. Lambert May 15, 1948.
She was a docent at the Amon Carter Museum and then moved to the Kimball Art Museum when it opened for a total of 35 years. She was a member of Bible Study Fellowship and Fort Worth Garden Club. She loved her friends and family and they were really important to her. She was passionate about cooking, decorating, gardening.
Venice worked as an interior decorator for many years as Lambert Interiors.
Venice was preceded in death by her husband David B. Lambert and parents.
Survivors: Son, David B. Lambert, Jr. (Linda); daughter, Suzanne L. Stovall (Brian); sister, Ellen Johnston; and nieces and nephews.
