Virginia was blessed with a large extended family. She was close to her many nieces and nephews. She loved spending time with them and the many visits they shared.
Virginia loved baking homemade cakes and breads. She was a great bridge player and loved any card game. Dominoes was another favorite of hers. She also thoroughly enjoyed the beach and swimming and was an avid reader. Most of all she loved being with family and enjoyed life’s simple pleasures. She was given the nickname “DD” by her grandchildren but was also called “Our Steel Magnolia” because of her strength and beauty. She handled everything life threw at her with grace and a smile.
Her relationship with Christ began when she was a young girl. She was blessed with Godly parents and was an active member in her church and Sunday school for years. She loved others like Jesus did and was the best example of what God had in mind when he entreated us to “Love one Another.”
Her faith and kindness to all, her loving smile, and sweet spirit will be dearly missed by her family and those who were blessed to know her.
Our family would like to acknowledge the administration and staff at the Oaks Personal Care Home. The love kindness and support to “DD” the last 4 months was so appreciated and we will be eternally grateful.
