Elko, GA – William Robert “Billy” Kersey, 67, went home to be with the Lord on Wednesday, January 31, 2018 at his residence surrounded by his loving family. Funeral services celebrating his life will be held on Saturday, February 3, 2018 at 11:00 am at Henderson Baptist Church. The visitation with family and friends will begin at 10:00 until service time at 11:00 am. The family has requested in lieu of flowers, please make donations to Compassionate Care Hospice, 305 Smithville Church Rd, Warner Robins, GA 31088.
Billy was born on June 21, 1950 in Hawkinsville, GA to the late James Robert and Doris (Akin) Kersey. He was a retired shipping supervisor from Unadilla Manufacturing. Billy loved fishing, woodworking, collecting brass and building crafts. He was a former member of Haynesville Baptist Church until his illness made it to where he was unable to attend. In addition to his parents, Billy was preceded in death by his sister, Ann (Kersey) Duffell.
Left to cherish his memory is his wife, Janice (Collier) Kersey of Elko; children: William Robert “Robby” Kersey (LaDonna) of Perry, Kathy Mitchell (Tracey) of Henderson and their mother: Mary Kersey; stepchildren: Stacy Spell (Buddy)of Lake Park, FL, Terri Darsey (Tim) of Hawkinsville, GA and Chris Walton of Florida; 13 grandchildren; 8 great-grandchildren; sisters: Pat Bowen (Jesse) of Warner Robins and Linda Spinks of Bonaire; brother: Larry Kersey (Kim) of Perry, numerous nieces and nephews.
