Obituary for William Clifford "Willie" Martin
Hawkinsville, Ga - William "Willie" Clifford Martin, 83, passed away at Pinewood Manor in Hawkinsville, GA. Services celebrating his life will be held on Thursday, June 13, 2019 at 2:00 pm at Burpee-Scott Memorial Chapel with military honors. The family will receive friends one hour prior to the services and immediately following. Reverend Todd Shearin will be officiating.
Willie was born on February 24, 1936 in Forest Park, GA to the late Harold Martin and Juanita (Chambers) KIlgore. He faithfully and honorably served his country in the United States Air Force. Willie retired from Robins Air Force Base, where he worked as an electronics Technician. He enjoyed Nascar races, especially pulling for the Ford drivers and traveling, but his greatest joy came from his family.In addition to his parents, Willie was preceded in death by his beloved wife, Shirley (Long) Martin; sisters: Evelyn Kilgore Batchelor and Marie Louise Merritt.
Left to cherish his memory are his children: William C. Martin, Jr. of Athens, GA, Kenneth Martin of St. Mary's, GA, Donna Peavy of Crawford County, GA and Ronnie Martin of Kathleen, GA; 7 grandchildren; 10 great-grandchildren; brother: James Kilgore, Jr. of Crawford Count, GA and his sister, Jemmia Collins of Eatonton, GA.
