Obituary for Wynell Parks (Thurman)

Warner Robins, GA – Wynell (Thurman) Parks, 72, went home to her Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ on Tuesday, January 15, 2019 at her residence. A visitation for family and friends will be held on Thursday, January 17, 2019 from 6:00-8:00 pm at Burpee-Scott Memorial Chapel. Funeral services celebrating her life will be held on Friday, January 18, 2019 at 2:00 pm at Burpee-Scott Memorial Chapel & Crematory with interment immediately following in Magnolia Park Cemetery.
Wynell was born on February 16, 1946 in Perry, GA to the late James William “JW” and Nadine (Driver) Thurman. She was a former member of the Napier Avenue Pentecostal Holiness Church in Macon, Ga and most recently had been attending the Warner Robins Nazarene Church. Wynell loved her Lord and made sure that her family was raised on Godly principles. She enjoyed gardening, arts and crafts, fishing, the Atlanta Braves but her greatest love beside God, was her family. In addition to her parents, Wynell was preceded in death by her infant son, Charles David Parks and several of her siblings.
Left to cherish her memory is her beloved husband of 56 years, Charles Larry Parks, Sr. of Warner Robins, GA; children: Paula (Parks) Menges (Jeff) of Salvo, NC, Charles Larry “Chuck” Parks, Jr. of Warner Robins, GA, Rebecca Webb (Scott) of Perry, GA, Gregory Scott Parks (Shanna) of Byron, GA and Sybil “Sissy” Walker (Scott) of Byron, GA; 12 grandchildren: Amanda Liercke (Joe), Nikki Pence (Chad), Connor Menges, Sydney Menges, Peyton Parks, Chelsea Webb, Emily Webb, Rhome Parks, Zach Parks, Lori Ann Walker, Kaylee Walker and Jonah Walker; 5 great-grandchildren; sisters: Carol Outlaw of Kathleen, GA, Twana Marlow (Ned) of Warner Robins, GA, Patty Durham (Tony) of Warner Robins, GA, Debbie Smith (Blake) of Kathleen, GA and many nieces and nephews.
