Steve was born July 15, 1963 in Atlanta,GA. He is the youngest son of three boys and one girl. Steve has worked as an independent contractor for more than 30 years. He has lived all of his adult life here in Warner Robins, where he met the love of his life, Sheila Byrd Burpee. They have been married since 1983 and have three wonderful children: Jamie, Robert and Sarah and are also the proud grandparents to two grandsons: Brenton and Elton. 

Steve and Sheila are very active members of Second Baptist Church where Steve has taught in the Awana ministry and coached church league softball and with the Upward programs. Steve is an avid outdoorsman, specifically hunting and saltwater fishing. 
Steve is also part-owner of Foundation Academy Daycares with three locations in Houston County. It is Steve’s work ethic, honesty and willingness to serve that has made him successful. He truly sees and understands the ministry of funeral service, which brought about the formation of Burpee-Scott Memorial Chapel & Crematory.
