Tim Burpee was born on March 10, 1958 in Atlanta, Georgia. When he was 15, he moved to Mansfield, Georgia where he graduated from Newton County High School. After high school, Tim felt God’s call in his life and he began his studies for the ministry. In 1981, he received his Bachelor of Arts in Christianity at Luther Rice Bible College in Jacksonville, Florida. In 1985, he received his Bachelor of Arts degree at Mercer University, Macon, Georgia, and in 1992 he received his Master of Divinity at Southeastern Seminary in Wake Forest, N.C.

In 1982, Tim was called to serve as Associate Pastor and Youth Minister at Westside Baptist Church in Warner Robins. Tim served at Westside until 1989 when he left to attend seminary. During his time at Westside, Tim met and married his wife of 32 years, Keri Clement Burpee. Tim and Keri have four children. Timothy Luke, who currently works for King and Spaulding Law firm in Atlanta; Kadie who is a Nurse Practitioner; Zach who currently attends college in Habersham County pursuing dual degrees in Public Relations and Counseling and is also a graduate of Ogeechee Technical College where he earned his degree in Mortuary Science, and Andrew who is a sophomore at Habersham Central.

Tim’s heart has always been for people. He served as a minister for twenty-five years. In 2007, he left the full time pastorate in order to fulfill a dream of reaching children for God. This was accomplished through the building of Foundation Academy in Habersham County, a Christian daycare where children are taught the word of God. In 2010, a second Foundation Academy was established in Warner Robins, and in 2012, a third Foundation Academy was built, also in Warner Robins. Tim worked in a funeral home while attending Luther Rice Bible College. He had always felt drawn to minister to those who had suffered a great loss in their lives. Burpee-Scott Memorial Chapel Funeral Home and Crematory of Houston County was created to minister and serve the people of Houston County and the surrounding counties.
