Obituary for Josselyn Douglas "Joss" Brotherton

Josselyn Douglas "Joss" Brotherton
Josselyn Douglas Brotherton, 26, entered into eternal rest on Saturday, February 4, 2017. Funeral services celebrating Joss’s life will be held on Friday, February 10, 2017 at 2:00 pm in Burpee-Scott Chapel. The family will receive friends on Thursday, February 9, 2017 from 5:00-7:00 pm at Burpee-Scott Memorial Chapel & Crematory.
Joss was born on January 2, 1991 to his proud parents, TSGT Mark and Cheryl Brotherton in Huntnigdon, Cambridshire, England. His family was stationed at nearby RAF Alconbury, England in the United States Air Force, along with his doting sister, Charlotte. Not long after his birth, Joss and his family were moved to Homestead Air Force Base in 1991 until Hurricane Andrew forced them to be moved to Shaw Air Force Base in Sumter, SC. With one final stateside assignment to Kansas, Joss returned with his family to England where he would live his formative years in his mother’s homeland and with loving grandparents and large family. Joss and family made Warner Robins their home in 2003 where he attended Feagin Mill Middle School and Houston County High School graduating in 2009. Joss enjoyed spending time with his family and friends, hunting, snowboarding, fast cars and playing church league softball. Joss loved to laugh and was always coming up with ways to make others laugh. Joss will not be defined by the way he died, but by the way he loved while he lived.
His memory will forever be treasured by his loving parents: Mark and Cheryl Brotherton, Warner Robins; sister: Charlotte Ridings(Austin), Perry; maternal grandparents: Richard and Sylvia Stebbing, England; paternal grandparents: Bill and Martha Brotherton, North Carolina; several cousins, aunts and uncles in America and across the pond in England.
