Obituary for Barbara J. Gordon (Amrey)
Dry Branch- Barbara J. Gordon, 84, passed away on Saturday, March 4, 2017 at Houston Medical Center. Services to celebrate her life will be private. The family has requested in lieu of flowers, please make donations to St. Jude Children’s research hospital.
Barbara was born on August 20, 1932 in Holdenville, OK to the late Orval and Nannie Lee Allen Amrey. She spent her career working at Hancock Fabrics from which she retired as the manager. Barbara loved to read, work crossword and jigsaw puzzles, gardening and music, but her greatest love were her grandchildren and great-grandchildren.
Barbara leaves behind to cherish her memory, two daughters: Sherry Johnson and Beth Bender; son: David Gordon; grandsons: Ken and Jeremy Slivka; granddaughter: Shona Smith; great-grandchildren: Benji, Chris, Zackery, Jorja, Hannah, Ariel and Josiah.
