Marion Irvine ""Irv""  Shaw Jr.
Warner Robins- Marion Irvine Shaw, Jr, 78, went home to his beloved wife Sonia and his Lord Jesus on Saturday, March 11, 2017. Services celebrating his life will be held on Friday, March 17, 2017 at 2:00 pm in the First Christian Church Disciples of Christ. The Reverend Darrell Vandervort will be officiating. The family will receive friends on Thursday, March 16, 2017 from 6:00-8:00 pm in Burpee-Scott Memorial Chapel. In lieu of flowers the family would like to request donations be made to First Christian Church Disciples of Christ, 100 N Houston Rd, Warner Robins, GA 31093
Irv was born on August 25, 1938 to the late Marion Irvine Shaw, Sr. and Mae Dominey Wendt in Macon, GA. He worked all his life to provide for his family, even going back to school at Macon College taking night classes where he earned a bachelor’s degree. He served his country for a total of 48 years, 6 in the United States Air Force and 42 as a Civil Service Program Manager at Robins Air Force Base from which he retired. Irv was considered a generous man, always putting his family & others before himself. Irv was known for his strong Christian faith and generosity. He was a huge sports fanatic, specifically Northside football, Go Eagles! He enjoyed studying and reading about U.S. and World history. He always enjoyed putting a smile on everyone’s face with a joke or history lesson and sports trivia. He truly loved his family but his Lord was always number one. In addition to his beloved wife and parents, Irv was preceded in death by his step-father, Barney Wendt, sister, Melba Frazier and a nephew, Frankie Frazier.
Irv leaves behind to cherish his memory, his son: Robert E. Menke (Diane), Rising Sun, IN; two daughters: Cheryl M. Warren, Bonaire and Robin Robertson ( Michael) , Warner Robins; 6 grandchildren: Shannon Warren, Madison Robertson, Tiffany Kitchens, Blayne Robertson, Melissa Menke & Samantha Menke; 2 nephews: Edward & Michael Frazier.
