Obituary for Charles Jerry Bowen
Hawkinsville- Charles Jerry Bowen, 71, passed away on Saturday, April 22, 2017 at Grady Memorial Hospital. A private family service will be held on Monday, April 24, 2017 at Oak Grove Cemetery in McRae, GA.
Jerry was born on August 16, 1945 in McRae, GA to the late W.T. and Maude Grimsley Bowen. He faithfully served his country in the United States Air Force and was a Vietnam Veteran. Jerry worked most of life as a self employed brick mason. His greatest passion in life was fishing and hunting. He truly enjoyed the outdoors. Jerry was raised in the Methodist church and was strong in his beliefs and faith.
Left to cherish his memory are his children: Lina Bowen Jones, Hawkinsville and Richard William Bowen, Statesboro; 5 grandchildren: Brock & Johnathon Bowen of Statesboro and Joshua, Brinn and Chandler Jones of Hawkinsville; 2 sisters: Sandra Bowen Faircloth, Hawkinsville and Betty Bowen Welch, Volcano, CA.
