Delmar Elige (Slim) Burkes

Warner Robins –Delmar Elige (Slim) Burkes, 74, entered into eternal rest on Monday, July 3, 2017. A visitation will be held from 5:00-6:00pm on Friday, July 7, 2017 at Solid Rock Community Church with a Memorial Service to follow at 6:00pm. in the Chapel.

Delmar was born on March 10, 1943 in Macon, Georgia to the late Clarence Twitty Burkes and Willie Maude Burkes Carter. He was a member of Solid Rock Community Church. He was a devoted loving father, grandfather, friend, and dedicated husband. He enjoyed hunting, gardening, tractors, and loved his pets. He was always willing to help others and loved his church family.

He was preceded in death by his parents Clarence Twitty Burkes and Willie Maude Burke Carter; his oldest brother Louie Clarence Burkes and his step father Herman Carter Sr.
His memory will forever be treasured by his beloved wife: Almira Kathleen Burkes and children: Delmar Elige Burkes Jr. (Esther) FL; Katrina Lynn Walters (Gregory Lamb) GA; Paula Ann Fleming (David) GA; John Lawerence Burkes (GA); and Kenneth Nelson Burkes (GA); his three siblings: Donald Franklin Burkes, Centerville; Herman Levi Carter, Jr. (Linda) Donaldsonville; Lurlene “Cookie” Singletary (Homer) Warner Robins; his six grandchildren and nine great grandchildren.
