Pineview- Erma Nell Peavey Coleman, 85, went home to be with the Lord on June 25, 2017 surrounded by her loving family. Graveside services celebrating Erma’s life will be held on Tuesday, June 27, 2017 at 2:00 pm in Jacksonville Memory Gardens, Jacksonville, FL with her son, Mr. Lamar Coleman officiating.
Erma was born on June 17, 1932 in Dooly County, GA to the late Carlton Eugene and Florence Poss Peavey. She was a member and worshipped at Broad Street Baptist Church in Hawkinsville, GA. Erma and her husband came back to the area and opened Cordele glass and mirror. Erma worked most of her life as a homemaker, caring for her beloved family. She was a faithful wife and loving mother. She never met a stranger and loved to laugh. She loved being outdoors, specifically planting flowers and bird watching. She was truly a nature lover. Erma will be greatly missed by all who knew her. In addition to her parents, Erma was preceded in death by her Husband: Atis Lamar Coleman Sr. . (Jack); Grandson: Scott Lee, Great-granddaughter: Bonnie Lee, Brother: Edward Otis Peavey.
Left to cherish her memory is her son: Lamar Coleman (Gail), Pineview, GA; daughters: Judy Griffin (Tommy), Pineview, GA and Cindy Lee (Albert), Jacksonville, FL; 6 grandchildren; 2 great-grandchildren; 6 sisters and 2 brothers.
The family would like to thank all of those who prayed for her and reached out to her in any way. A special “Thank You” to the hospice nurses and aides who took such wonderful care of her.
In lieu of flowers, the family asks that donations be made in her honor to Reflection Hospice, 202 E. 4TH Avenue, Cordele, Georgia 31015.
