Esther M. McDonald of Warner Robins, GA, died December 30, 2016 at the Houston Medical Center in Warner Robins. She was 97 years old. Born in Somerset, PA on August 14, 1919, Mrs. McDonald was the daughter of the late Madison James Romesberg and Leliah Jane Weckenhiser Romesberg. She married Robert McDonald, Sr. in 1946. They resided in Baltimore until 1970 when they moved with their family to Kent Island MD. After Mr. McDonald retired the two moved to West Palm, FL. Mrs. McDonald also lived in Stuart, FL, Newport News, VA, and most recently Perry, GA. Mr. and Mrs. McDonald were married for 56 years. Mrs. McDonald was a devoted mother and homemaker. Her family was her life. She never met a stranger and had a beautiful singing voice. She also enjoyed painting, quilting, and crafts. Mrs. McDonald is survived by two sons, John J. McDonald of Florida and Robert McDonald, Jr. (Lori) of Cordova, MD; three daughters: Karen A. Burt (Steve) of Canandaigua, NY, Jayne Frances Spencer (Cowles) of Tabb, VA, and Kathi McCollough of Perry GA; eight grandchildren and several great grandchildren, many nieces, nephews, cousins, and great friends. She was preceded in death, by her husband Robert, two sons, Mark Gregory McDonald and Michael McDonald. She was also preceded in death by her ten siblings. There will be a viewing/visitation from 6 until 8 PM on Wednesday, January 4th, at the Moore Funeral Home, P.A. in Denton, MD. A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at the St. Elizabeth’s Roman Catholic Church on First St. in Denton at 11 AM on Thursday, January 5th. Friends may visit with the family from 6 until 8 PM on Wednesday at Moore Funeral Home, P.A., 12 S. 2nd Street in Denton. The interment will be in the Woodlawn Cemetery in Easton, MD. The family requests for memorial donations to be sent to St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital, PO Box 1000, Dept. 142, Memphis TN 38148-9908 (donatestjude.org).
