Obituary for George Clifton Lucas
Mr. George Clifton Lucas, age 83, passed away on January 17, 2017. Funeral services will be held at Burpee-Scott Memorial Chapel in Warner Robins on January 19, 2017 at 2:00 pm. Burial will follow at Parkway Memorial Gardens in Warner Robins. The family will receive friends at Burpee-Scott Memorial Chapel beginning at 1:00 pm on the day of the service.
Mr. Lucas served his country honorably in the United States Army and retired as a Scheduler from Robins AFB after 36 years of service. He was a member of the Powersville United Methodist Church.
George was born October 30, 1933 in Toxey, Alabama, to William Coty and Reva Chappell Lucas. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his six brothers; Wallace, Kenneth, Curtis, Winston and William and a sister Christine Lucas Mosley.
George was survived by his wife of 60 years, Mary Lolley Lucas; two sons, Mark (Debbie) Lucas, Fort Mill, S.C., Randall (Debbie) Lucas, Fort Valley, GA., four grandchildren; Lindsay Lucas, Zachary Lucas(Heaven), Colin Lucas, and Ethan Lucas; one great-grandchild, Lily Kate Lucas; sister, Melba Lucas Lewis and a host of nieces, nephews and other relatives.
Contributions may be made in memory of George to Powersville United Methodist Church at 245 Lakeview Road, Byron, Georgia 31008 or to the charity of your choice.
