Fort Valley- Harold Evans Estes, 88, went to be with our Lord and his beloved wife of 68 years, Wynelle Allen Estes on Sunday, July 30, 2017 at the Oaks Nursing Home in Marshallville, GA. Funeral services will be held on Wednesday, August 2, 2017 at 11:00 am in Fort Valley United Methodist Church with the burial following in Oaklawn Cemetery. The family will receive friends on Tuesday, August 1, 2017 from 5:30 – 7:30 pm in Fort Valley United Methodist Church. The family accepts flowers but ask that any donations be made to Fort Valley United Methodist Church or to the Wounded Warrior Project.
Harold was born on September 10, 1928 in Crawford County to the late Ollie Levi and Lora Alice Treadwell Estes. He proudly served his country in the Army National Guard as a sharp shooter from which he retired at the rank of Master Sergeant. He was a proud volunteer fireman for the Fort Valley Fire Department for 38 years. Harold owned and operated Estes Electrical & Plumbing. Harold was a very active member of the Fort Valley United Methodist Church and the Fellowship Sunday School Class. In addition to his parents and wife, Harold was preceded in death by his brothers: Jack and Bub Estes and his Jessie. He loved his family, fishing telling stories and watching Atlanta Braves Baseball.
Left to cherish his memory is his daughter: Karen Giles (Roy), Fort Valley; granddaughter: Jessica Estes Giles Coleman (Blayne), Kennesaw.
