Obituary for Haydee Casañas (Ortega)
Warner Robins- Haydee Ortega Casanas, 85, went to be with the Lord on Wednesday, November 15, 2017 at Tradition Health & Rehabilitation Center in Lithonia, GA. Funeral services celebrating her life will be held on Saturday, November 18, 2017 at 10:00 am in Sacred Heart Catholic Church with burial immediately following in Magnolia Park Cemetery. A rosary will be said on Friday beginning at 6:00 pm in Burpee-Scott Chapel with visitation following until 8:00 pm. The family request in lieu of flowers, please make donations to the Casanas family to help with her final expenses.
Haydee was born on September 26, 1932 in Utuado Puerto Rico to the late Emilio and Ramona Rivera Ortega. She was a devout catholic and was constantly praying for or with anyone in need. Haydee was a faithful member of Sacred Heart Catholic Church, where she played in the praise band and volunteered in many ministries. She enjoyed going on retreats with her church and working in her yard. Her greatest joy came from her family who she loved dearly. In addition to her parents, Haydee was preceded by her beloved husband Angel Casanas and son, Angel Casanas, Jr..
Left to cherish her memory is her daughters: Mirta Abarca (William) of Warner Robins and Hennybet Santiago of Jacksonville, FL; son: Melvin Casanas (Jacqueline) of Fort Lauderdale, FL; 9 grandchildren: Jacqueline Cabrera, Hector Santiago, Vicky Heredia, Adrian Santiago, Rafael Abarca, Stephanie Casanas, Jesus Casanas, twins: Joshua and Angel Abarca; 8 great-grandchildren; 10 brothers and sisters.
