Obituary for Rev. Raymond Franklin Parker

Rev. Raymond Franklin Parker, 86, went home to be with his Lord and Savior Jesus Christ on Saturday, January 14, 2017.
Reverend Parker was born on August 25, 1930 in Atlanta to the late Fred and Elizabeth Phillips Parker. He was called into the ministry at the young age of 19 and served as an ordained Assemblies of God minister for over 66 years. He seemed to have the hand of God upon him and was sometimes referred to as the “Walking Bible” as a young evangelist because of his knowledge and memory of the word. He was loved by all who knew him. Reverend Parker was currently serving as the interim pastor of Glad Tidings Assembly in Macon. He was the owner/operator for many years of Parker auto sales in Warner Robins and helped supply cars for many friends and family members.
Rev. Parker is survived by his wife of 66 years, Edna Tucker Parker, Macon; 3 daughters: Brenda Jackson (Ricky), Havelock, NC, Patricia Etheridge (Derrell), Byron, GA , Shirley Bowman (Russell); son: Earl Parker (Wanda), Warner Robins; 9 grandchildren; 14 great-grandchildren; sister: Catherine Bracken (Dabney), Jackson, MS.
Funeral services will be held Wednesday, January 18, 2017 at 2:00 pm in Burpee-Scott Memorial Chapel with interment Immediately following. The family will receive friends on Tuesday, January 17, 2017 from 6:00-8:00 pm in Burpee-Scott Memorial Chapel.
