Obituary for Robert Webb Harkins

Warner Robins- Robert Webb Harkins, 68, passed away on Friday, January 6, 2017 with his family by his side. The family will receive friends on Thursday, January 12, 2017 from 6:00 – 8:00 pm at Burpee-Scott Memorial Chapel & Crematory. The family has requested that all other services be private. The family has requested in lieu of flowers, please make donations to St. Jude Children’s Research, P.O. Box 50, Memphis, TN 38101.
Robert was born on July 11, 1948 to the late Robert C. and Mary Lou Sledge Harkins in Macon, GA. He lived almost all of his life in Warner Robins. He was a 1966 graduate of Warner Robins High School and attended Middle Georgia College. He proudly served his country in the Army National Guard. Robert spent most of his career working with Wilson Electric Company and Electric Supply in Macon from which he retired. He was an avid hunter and fisherman and was a longtime member of Double Branch Hunting Club in Jones Co.
Robert is survived by two sisters: Sarah Herrington (Van), Warner Robins and Martha Johnson, Cumming; one niece: Dr. Andrea McGee (Mark), Warner Robins and two nephews: Brian Herrington (Miranda), Warner Robins and Brewer Johnson(Margaret), Decatur.
Robert’s family would like to extend sincere gratitude to The Church Home for the Aged and to Heartland Hospice for the attentive and loving care they gave during this most difficult time.
