Byron- Shelia Dianne Scott, 51, went home to her Lord and Savior Jesus Christ on Monday, May 29, 2017, after a year long battle with cancer, in which she named “My Love”, in honor of drawing her closer to her original love Jesus Christ.. Funeral services celebrating her life will be held on Friday, June 2, 2017 at 5:00 pm in Byron Baptist Church. The family will receive friends from 3:00-5:00 pm also in the Byron Baptist Church sanctuary. Family asks that in lieu of flowers; please make donations to Byron Baptist Church, Raise The Roof Fund Raiser, 100 W. White Rd., Byron, GA 31008 or Heart of Georgia Hospice, 103 Westridge Dr., Warner Robins, GA 31088.
Shelia was born on April 28, 1966 in Byron, GA to the Late J.B. Baker and Evelyn Cowart Baker of Macon. She was a very hardworking outgoing lady who loved to serve others. She worked for many years as a waitress with Waffle House, for 5 years with Dicks Sporting Goods and as the Senior Services Director for Middle Georgia Community Action Agency. Shelia was an active member of Byron Baptist Church and the New Vision Sunday School Class. She loved her family and was always looking out for their well being, especially her 3 grandchildren. In addition to her father, Shelia is preceded in death by a brother: Donald Baker.
Shelia is survived by her beloved husband, Keith Marshall Scott; daughter: Crystal Nicole Baker, Macon; step-son: Marshall Keith Scott; 3 grandchildren: Deven Gaston, Jayden Baker and Kaedyn Baker; sister: Glenda Day, Conyers; 4 brothers: Ricky Miller (Judy), Tennille, GA, James Baker, Ronald Baker and Mike Payne, all of Macon, GA and host of aunts , uncles and cousins.
