Obituary for William J. Farmer
William J. Farmer, 83, of Fort Valley went home to be with the Lord on Saturday, May 27, 2017 at Church Home Rehab. A visitation with family and friends will be held Monday, June 5, 2017 at Burpee-Scott Memorial Chapel from 5:00-7:00pm with a memorial service beginning at 7:00pm .William’s family has asked that in lieu of flowers; please make donations to Children’s Healthcare of Atlanta, Sibley Heart Center, 1405 Clifton Rd, Atlanta, GA 30322
William was born in Campobello, South Carolina on March 2, 1934 to the late James Farmer and Irene Farmer. William faithfully served his country as a Tech Sergeant in the United States Air Force for 20 years while serving 1 year in Vietnam, and retired with honor. He also worked as a truck driver. If William wasn’t working, he could be found reading the word, teaching his Sunday school class, telling corny jokes, singing in the choir, and also preaching God’s word.
William is preceded by his beloved wife Janice Farmer. William is survived by his Son, Randy Farmer (Cindi); daughters: Pamela Jo Farmer, Kaye Maloy (John); Stepdaughters: Mandy Hart (Jonathon), Pamela Sinclair (John); Grandchildren: Michael Saulmon (Amanda), Lauryn Farmer, Carlie Farmer, Monroe Smith, Reese Hart, Charlee Hart, & Skylar Cardanez.; Step grandson: Gordon Maloy.
