Hilda Burney Elias

Warner Robins- Hilda Burney Elias, 78, passed away unexpectedly from complications following a fall, on Friday, November 11, 2016, surrounded by her son, Brad and sister, Lenda.
Hilda was born on June 30, 1938 to the late Robert Franklin Burney and Mamie Scarborough Burney in Cadwell, GA. In addition to her parents, Hilda was predeceased by her sisters; Doris Burney and Gladys Thorn and her twin brother; Robert Hildon Burney. She is survived by her loving children: Sydney Elias, Paris, TN; Brad Elias, Wassilla, AK; and Mark Elias (Mahealani) Reno, NV ; her 5 grandchildren,5 great-grandchildren; her siblings: LaVerne Fowler(Tommy)Warner Robins, GA; Joyce Childers (David)Dublin,GA; Lenda Dillard (Dave) Crossville, TN; Brenda Ryals (R.F.) Byron, GA; and Charles Burney, Chester, GA and a host of nieces and nephews.
Hilda Lived in Alaska for nearly 30 years where she worked for the Federal Aviation Administration as a Systems Analyst in Accounting. After retiring in 2001, she returned to Georgia. In less than a year, she was working part-time, which became full-time at Middle Georgia State University in the Business Office (Bursar’s Office) where she was still actively employed. She loved her work and helping the students.
Hilda was a 1956 graduate of Dexter High School in Dexter, GA. She loved to cook, especially for her family. Family was very important to Hilda. Hilda was notorious for her baking skills. She was a member of Shirley Hills Baptist Church.
Funeral services to celebrate Hilda’s life will be Sunday, November 13, 2016 at 2:00 pm in Burpee-Scott Memorial Chapel, with visitation being held on Saturday, November 12, 2016 from 4:00-6:00 pm in Burpee-Scott Memorial Chapel. She will be laid to rest in Middle Ground Cemetery in Dodge County, GA.
